Un cammino di ricerca inizia spesso inconsapevolmente, o meglio ad un certo punto si diventa consapevoli che siamo esseri viaggianti e che si sta portando avanti un cammino interiore. Questa è una scoperta, per me lo è stato; prenderne coscienza è già un salto di qualità della vita, è come accedere ad un piano superiore e godere di un panorama prima precluso. Nascono nuovi interessi, si sviluppano capacità fino ad allora mai considerate, si diventa più attenti alle forze che muovono la vita, ci si sente inseriti e parte formante di un sistema che va al di la del proprio piccolo e ristretto mondo. Ad un certo punto la vista periferica diventa primaria; mentre normalmente ci si focalizza e si mette a fuoco un punto, una situazione, in base alle proprie conoscenze, ai propri stereotipi, educazione ecc ecc, di colpo ci si può svegliare e cominciare a togliere l’occhio dal buco della serratura che ci ha offerto solo e solamente una visione parziale per tutto il tempo. Una volta staccato l’occhio dal buchino non puoi tornarci, è una strada che non ha ritorno. L’animo umano ha bisogno di spazio per crescere, ha bisogno di visione ampia; questo ci rende meno portati al pregiudizio e meno scettici a volte, del resto spesso lo scetticismo o il criticismo denota solo mancanza di visione.
Coscienti o no siamo in viaggio verso un’unica meta, l’illuminazione; un processo di chiara percezione dove si percepisce il mondo così com’è. Di conseguenza si agisce in maniera pulita e chiara, facendo le cose così come sono, agire a partire dal non fare, il wu wei, l’agire senza agire, vivere in un modo totalmente lineare, con una mente che è completamente esente da distorsioni nevrotiche.
Malgrado che nella nostra percezione del mondo quasi tutti siamo soggetti a distorsioni nevrotiche, psicotiche e isteriche, abbiamo tutti anche una natura originaria incontaminata, pulita: una base immacolata per una percezione e un contatto reali, una sorta di sole dietro le nubi. 
In fondo al cuore di ognuno c’è una luce, come una fiamma di candela; quando l’animo è agitato la fiamma trema e non illumina. Quando l’animo è calmo la fiamma si stabilizza e la sua luce è in grado di penetrare il buio.
